Poor response time
I had late luggage and submitted paperwork timely but they kept asking for more even though I gave them everything the airline provided . Poor response time although it was eventually paid
We had no claim. Insurance was bought solely for medical emergency. Like any insurance policy, you will find out how good they are when you make a claim. I rated customer service only because it was required.
Cruise on Holland America
I purchased this plan online as I needed something in case of emergency and a good cancellation policy in case we had to cancel our trip. Everything went smmoth on our trip and we never need to use the insurance but we were very happy to have the peace of mind that if something did happen we would be taken care of.
Felt Free to Have Fun
We purchase a plan each time our granddaugther travels to see us. We will use this pkg again.
Purchased coverage for trip to China. Tour operator (in business for 16 years) defaulted due to financial problems. Was told that Travel Insured would pay me my unrefunded air fare, but not for the trip! Was told to read the print on page 3 of the details. I appealed, and was told the same thing. What a scam!! If this is really the coverage, this insurance company needs to make it plainer on the summary page. I've appealed to my state insurance offices, and they just listened to Travel Insured. Don't waste your money on travel insurance!
Awful experience.. Added aggravance to our frustration.
Claim was denied because of a " technicism" Even though proof was submitted they just declined unilaterally. Poor reasoning capabilities nor good abilities to make decisions on their customer service staff.
For a person like me that travels more than 100k miles a year and hold every possible elite status on every Airline I just consider these thieves a pack of wolves. I will NEVER again buy from these people again. Please ask them questions before buying insurance from them. Their fine prints "protects" them from paying you with stupid arguments and inexplicable excuses. Beware.
good communications bad follow up
I had to submit a medical claim for my son due to an accident during the trip. I mailed the complete form I received by email. I sent the envelope regular mail (I was supposed to send it confirmed receipt) to get them to sign when they got the claim. After one month I call to find out how much longer I needed to wait to get my refund and they told me that they didn’t received any claim. I had to scan the documents to send by email, and fax the same copies. It has been two months since we return and one and a half since I sent the claim and no refund. I will have to place a complaint if nothing comes in the next month. I will never buy another insurance from this company.
Fair price for coverage
I just purchased a policy from QuoteWright. Coverage seems to be comprehensive and fairly priced. I don't know about claim submission and payment and hopefully will never need to find out.
travel ins. international
Had no need to submit a claim this trip, but two years ago I cancelled a trip due to a medical emergency; they paid full cost of trip and air fare. The cost of insurance is reasonable, and the people I worked with were helpful. I have recommended them to fellow travelers.
Damage to wheelchair
I was very unhappy with the company that we purchased insurance.through i.e. Travel Insured .
My wife's new travel wheelchair was severely damaged at the first port of a 24 day cruise. We had little choice but to rent a chair from Norweign Cruise Line for the remainder of the cruise. The cost was $390.00. When we applied for rental reimbursement we were told that only the damage to the chair could be covered and because we did not have the broken chair"" nor did we have ""pictures of the broken chair"" we were not eligible for reimbursement of any sort. (We did have a statement from the cruise reception desk that our chair was broke and that a rental chair was needed). We were denied any and all compensation.
The arrival of Hurricane Ilene closed down JFK airport the day I was to fly to Malaga, Spain. I had to reschedule my flight out of Boston. The cost of renting a car and driving to Boston was refunded to me by my insurance company Travel Insurance International after I submitted the necessary proof. All the forms were emailed to me and after I called I submitted only the two that was needed. I received my check approximately a month and a half later. I am overall pleased with my interaction with Travel Insurance International.
We initially purchase cruise insurance when we purchased our cruise tickets. We then did some web research and found that Trip Insurance International had substantially lower rates. We cancelled our original insurance and went with Trip Insurance Int'l. While we did not have any claims, the customer service was good and they supplied ID tags, etc on line. We were satisfied with our purchase.
Travel Insurance rating
I never had to submit a claim so I cannot rate the last two items (I had to fill them in as there is no N/A"" choice). This company is easy to deal with and they are very responsive. I highly recommend them."
Warning read the fine print
Warning read the FINE print. We lost a passport which actually turned out to cost us a lot of money. However we found it, before we filed a police report, so all our expenses were NOT covered. They did pay on the unused portion of our trip that was cancelled due to a strike.
Did not make a claim, so service issues are N/A even though that option is not available on the website (rated them as 1). Website was easy to use, insurance cost was competitive, and insurer transmittal of insurance info and ID tags was fine.
